About Jenny

A little bit about me:

Jenny Swartley Tyrpak is a passionate custom artist and experienced educator based in the Upper Perkiomen Valley of Pennsylvania. Driven by over twenty years of experience in the classroom, her work is founded on the belief that art unites the mind, spirit, and body, serving as a powerful source of creativity, craftsmanship, and confidence. Whether she is sketching or painting, Jenny strives to portray truth and create beauty, reflecting the inherent truth and beauty she believes originated with and is maintained by God. When not in the studio, she enjoys building Legos, bird watching, and spending time with her family, who are her constant inspiration.

A little bit more about me:

Personal Background: A native of the Souderton/Telford area, Jenny Swartley Trypak has resided in the Upper Perkiomen Valley of Pennsylvania since 1992, where she continues to live and create alongside her wonderfully supportive, creative husband. Her life roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and artist continually inspire and inform her work.

Professional Background: Building upon a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education in Art Education, Jenny brings over two decades of teaching experience to her practice. For more than twenty years, she has cultivated art appreciation and technical skill with students of all ages, from K-12 classrooms to summer art camps, YMCA classes, and private tutoring. This extensive experience allows her to share a complete knowledge of materials, techniques, and processes necessary for solving creative problems in art.

Artistic Practice: Custom art forms the core of her professional practice, but art has been a constant part of her life—from sketching in a barn as a child to tutoring individuals who wish to learn new skills today. She specializes in several unique media, with watercolor, calligraphy, scratch art, and batik being her personal favorites.

Artistic Philosophy: At the heart of her creative perspective lies the belief that art unites the mind, spirit, and body, serving as a powerful source of inspiration for creativity, craftsmanship, and confidence. She strives to encourage these qualities in every endeavor. Creativity requires taking the time to see things differently and willingly trying new paths. Craftsmanship is demonstrated by showing respect for one’s own work and the work of others. Confidence is the courage to work hard with a positive attitude of accomplishment, always striving to improve.

Faith: Her personal art is guided by a desire to portray truth and create beauty as she perceives it, reflecting the inherent truth and beauty she believes originated with and is maintained by God.

Life: Outside of the studio and classroom, her interests include bird watching, building Legos, solving puzzles, bicycling, walking, reading, and spending time with her family.
